Eric Matthews over at ThatBookkeeper is one of our, well, favorite bookkeepers! Recently he penned a great blog post that goes into what you should be thinking about when you're filing your first self employed tax return. Below is a quick summary and a link to the full article. Enjoy! And thanks, Eric!

If you're filing your taxes for the first time as a self-employed individual, here's what you should be thinking on:

  • ... And be prepared to owe...
  • But remember! It could be much worse!
  • That said, claim! Claim! Claim!
  • Plan for next year.
